It's time to do things differently. It's time to tell a new narrative, one that empowers students to think critically and independently. It used to be about education alone. In this new era of change, Critical Thinking is a survival skill.
I offer a complete commitment to teaching students to think through any issue independently. In 2015, I went back to school to obtain my Masters Degree In Writing. I pursued my Certification in Teaching Writing two years later at MNSU, Mankato. My undergraduate degree is in French Language and Literature, which means I take a linguistics approach to teaching. Based on studies of how children learn language, I teach students to pursue their curiosity. I emphasize how to listen more deeply, to chunk concepts, sentences and complex questions down into smaller, more manageable parts. I have been reading avidly since I was a child. I have made study a way of life, growing up in an academic home. I may well have picked up a few things by osmosis; my father is a world-renowned math prodigy, who, at the age of 90 is still engaged in theoretical math. But I leave the math to him. My strength is in language, in making the metaphorical concrete and in fostering internal motivation and creative approaches to learning.
